From Austin straight to Miamiโฆ and somehow, life looks completely different than it did just a couple of months ago.
After Italy, I headed to Austin, where I spent the past month working nonstop on a project Iโm so excited to share (more on that soon!). The plan after that was simpleโjust one week in Miami over Easter with my family.
But as it turns out, one week has turned into something much longer.
Weโve decided to stay in Miami for the spring and summer. We rented a home with a separate guest houseโthe house for the family, and the guest house for meโand weโre settling into this new, very unexpected chapter.
I truly never would have predicted this, even a month ago. But when I thought about heading back to the cold mountain town for spring and summer, I realized I needed something different. A change of environment, a little more warmth, a reset of sorts.
It also happens to be perfect timing, since our home in Colorado is currently a full construction zone while we renovate. I needed somewhere else to land anywayโฆ so why not somewhere sunny?
So, surpriseโMiami Beach for now, and then a good amount of travel this fall.
Itโs exciting, but also overwhelming, chaotic, and if Iโm being honest, a little scary too.
Iโve lived with anxiety for as long as I can remember. As a kid, it showed up around school and being away from my mom. Over the years, itโs just been something Iโve learned to manage. Iโve found tools that help, but itโs still something I work through daily. If you know, you knowโit doesnโt just disappear.
So with all this unpredictability, itโs definitely been a challenge. But I also know I wasnโt feeling my best at home in the cold, and this changeโwhile hardโis something I needed.
Because everything has been so last-minute, getting settled hasnโt been easy. Weโre building out the kitchen from scratch so I can keep creating recipes, but itโs taking time. And honestly, thatโs been the hardest part.
For the last 13+ years, what my mom and I have been building has meant showing up consistently, sharing recipes daily, and connecting with all of you. And lately, thatโs looked a little different. Itโs something Iโve stressed over more than I can explain, and I truly want to say thank you for your patience and kindness.
We do have recipes coming, and weโre getting there. It just might take a couple of weeks to find our rhythm again.
This season has been a lotโfinishing up a big two-year project while navigating all of this changeโbut Iโm doing my best to lean into it. To trust that growth comes from the uncomfortable moments, even when they feel messy.
Change is hard, but it also opens the door to something new, something better, something more aligned.
And right now, thatโs what Iโm choosing to focus on.
Iโm really excited to share more from this time in Miami, along with everything thatโs ahead this year. It means a lot to be able to show up here and share honestly with youโit truly does feel like catching up with friends.
I hope wherever you are, you have something youโre excited about tooโsomething that challenges you, pushes you, and brings you joy.

Couldnโt you stay in your studio while your home is being renovated?
Hey Molly,
Sure, if I really wanted to:) But getting out of town for the spring/summer sounded really nice and I am so excited to be spending my time in Miami.
Hope you have a great week!
Ohhhh cool!! I hope you can take some time to really enjoy Miami! No, not some โ LOTS of time lol
I freaking love that on track fleece lined pullover, especially in summer melon blue indigo! Need it!
I will be making the chicken and egg sausage sandwiches not this week but next. I had already planned on making breakfast turkey sausage eggrolls today for the week, and I used your spice mixture for the turkey sausage and it was perfect! So, we are really looking forward to those sandwiches!
Hey Heather,
Lol thanks so much! I am excited to be in Miami and to do some exploring.
Isnโt the pullover super cute?!
I hope you love the breakfast sandwiches! Thanks for making them.
Have a great week ahead!
Iโm so sorry to hear your anxiety is still so hard, especially when being away from your mom. ๐ how nice that theyโre able to be with you in FL for months so you arenโt alone! You have great parents!!
Iโm truly so blessed to have them:) Thanks for reading today, Tina!
Enjoy the warm weather! I love the idea of renting a home in a new place for a few months, the change of scenery is always exciting!
Hey Lynn,
Thanks so much! Iโm already enjoying the warmth:) It should be a nice change for a little while.
Thanks for reading today and have a great week!
I think this new environment will do you good!
I always like to see what you link here. However, you will not need fleeces, jeans, or jackets in Miami. Itโs going to be very hot and very humid.
Please share the outfits youโre actually wearing in Miami.
Thanks for your suggestions, Vivian! I appreciate you reading today.
Have a great week ahead!
Just wondering why did your parents and siblings also move to Miami? Is there a remodel going on of their home too? Or did you just not want to be alone in Florida?
Hey Jordy,
Thanks for asking! Itโs actually been something that they have been wanting to do. They really enjoy Miami and it was their choice to move. They wanted to spend time elsewhere during the spring and summer.
Enjoy your week!
